Hyderabad:

MLA Eatala Rajender has been suspended from the Telangana Legislative Assembly for the remainder of the current session for the alleged objectionable remarks made by him against the Speaker recently.

Speaking in the House, ruling TRS MLA D Vinay Bhaskar said that some of the comments made by Mr. Rajendra a few days back were derogatory to the Speaker.

They demanded that Mr. Rajendra withdraw his remarks and apologize.

As Mr. Rajendra started speaking, Minister of Legislative Affairs Vemula Prashant Reddy said that the BJP MLAs are preferring to do politics outside the House instead of debating inside.

He said the ruling party wanted Rajendra to participate in the proceedings of the House and he should first withdraw his remarks and apologize to the Speaker.

Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy asked Eatala Rajender to respond according to the mood of the House.

Mr. Rajender sought to make his point and Prashant Reddy said the former could attend the proceedings after apologizing.

A brief standoff, which included a verbal exchange, was followed by both sides holding their respective positions and Prashant Reddy moving a motion to suspend Mr. Rajendra for the remainder of the current session.

The Speaker announced the suspension of Shri Rajendra.
