BJP mocks KCR’s claim of ‘foreign hand’

Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao see an alien conspiracy Instead of taking steps to help the flood affected people behind the cloudburst and floods in the state.

Floods in Godavari are not new. This has happened before and will happen in the future too, but to attribute it to a deliberately foreign and human hand is ridiculous and another drama to cover up the failures of the government,” he said in a press statement on Sunday.

“Indeed, KCR is a ‘conspirator’ claiming himself to be an ‘engineering expert’, but the hollowness of his claim was exposed by the floods of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project and the dams of water bodies being washed away,” he said.

The Karimnagar MP questioned the TRS government’s measures to avert the floods and accused the administration of apathy. “The Chief Minister should tell the people about the steps taken for relief and rehabilitation of the affected, as the compensation of ₹10,000 to each family is insufficient”.

“Everyone expected the CM to announce a complete financial package for the people affected by the floods, detailing the total loss of agriculture and property, but his visit was a blank one. How did he not think of strengthening the dam at Godavari in the last eight years? He asked.

In a separate statement, senior BJP leader Gudur Narayan Reddy demanded the government to pay ₹15,000 per acre as compensation to farmers whose fields were submerged and crops damaged. Due to heavy rains and floods in the state, crops in about 13 lakh acres have been damaged.

Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman in his statement lauded KCR for “finally coming out of his farmhouse” to visit the flood-affected areas as “this is the first time he has bothered to do such tours in the last few years”.

BJP’s official spokesperson NB Subhash said that KCR may criticize the Center for the failures of his government, but the people of Telangana have lost faith in the TRS regime and are ready to choose the BJP in the next elections.
