BJP President Nadda’s ‘grave’ built in Mariguda

The political heat in Munugode fell to unacceptable levels with the grave of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda erupting in the middle of a road in Mariguda under Chautuppal on Thursday.

Unidentified persons dug up a grave with a picture of Mr. Nadda with flowers on it and a banner bearing the words Regional Fluoride Mitigation and Research Center. Though some people are claiming themselves to be fluoride sufferers behind this, the BJP said that such shoddy politics is the handiwork of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Though no complaint was lodged, it was demolished by the police after a video and pictures went viral on social media. The ‘grave of protest’ was apparently to remind Mr Nadda of the promise he had made when he was Union health minister to set up a fluoride mitigation centre.

Telangana Health Minister T. Harish Rao said on Twitter that Mr Nadda failed to keep his promise even after 8 years. He said the Telangana government had allotted land at Chautappal to the Center following Mr Nadda’s assurances but the promise was easily forgotten.
