The BJP is scheduled to hold a special executive committee meeting in Bengaluru on Saturday to review preparations for the assembly polls and chalk out a calendar of events for at least the next one month.

More than 800 members will attend this meeting being held at the Palace Grounds. Party sources said chief strategist BL Santosh will attend the meeting, which is expected to finalize the dates for the ‘rath yatras’ to be taken out from four different directions in the state. BJP is planning to take out Rath Yatra to intensify its election campaign.

According to a senior leader of the party’s state unit, the performance of two major campaigns run by the party — Vijaya Sankalp Yatra and Booth Vijaya — will be reviewed in the meeting. Based on the coverage at the booth level, the meeting is expected to take further deliberations on preparations for the polls.

“The meeting will try to analyze the impact of our ongoing campaigns based on the feedback received from various quarters,” sources said.

It will also outline the programs to be undertaken in connection with the election preparations for at least the next one month, sources said.

Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary and state in-charge Arun Singh, who arrived in Bengaluru to attend the meeting, said Karnataka has received maximum benefits from the Union budget, such as a grant of Rs 5,300 crore for the Upper Bhadra project. Interacting with media persons, he claimed that the Center would also support the state with regard to various railway projects.
