The MCD could not elect a six-member standing committee following ruckus in the House, following which AAP corporator and Mayor Shaili Oberoi on Friday alleged that BJP corporators pulled her chair and pushed her.

As I was about to announce the result, BJP corporators, especially Arjun Marwah, Chandan Chowdhary, and Ravi Negi came on stage. Chowdhary pulled my chair and pushed me. I ran for my life,” said Shelly Oberoi.

He also alleged that the BJP created ruckus for two-and-a-half months “deliberately” to stall the MCD meeting and run the House in an unconstitutional manner.

“AAP has 134 corporators, one has joined BJP. Since Congress corporators are not here, it means there are some BJP corporators who voted for AAP,” he said.

Delhi BJP leader Harish Khurana accused AAP of violence and not following rules.
