The Congress leader said he would personally write to Modi asking him to take action against Yatnal.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday criticized a Karnataka BJP leader for calling former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi a ‘Vishkanya’, saying the use of the term reflects the vitiated political discourse in the country.

“The remarks made by a Bharatiya Janata Party leader in Karnataka against Sonia Gandhi shows the rot in politics. Gehlot told reporters in Hanumangarh, Sonia Gandhi is respected by both the ruling and opposition parties across the country.

“With such vile and hateful statements about him, I feel a new version of the BJP is coming out,” he said.

Interacting with the media in poll-bound Karnataka, BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal on Thursday night called Sonia Gandhi a ‘Vishkanya’, apparently reacting to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s comparison of the prime minister. Narendra Modi With a ‘poisonous snake’. Gehlot, in turn, accused the BJP of twisting the comments of his opponents to mislead the public.

“I think their countdown is starting from Karnataka. If we make any comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he distorts it and presents it to the public to win elections, we have seen this many times.

Nevertheless, the Congress leader said that he would personally write a letter to Modi asking him to take action against Yatnal.

He said that if the PM or the Karnataka CM does not act, it will be clear that they agree with the opinion of the BJP MLA.
