Bollywood singer KK passes away at 53: Tribute

Renowned Bollywood singer KK (Krishnakumar Kunath), who enthralled music lovers for more than three decades, is no more. The 53-year-old singer passed away in Kolkata after a live performance. KK allegedly fell from the stairs at the hotel where he was staying after performing on the Nazrul stage on Tuesday. He was declared brought dead at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at 10:30.

KK’s last social media post came on Instagram when he was performing on stage. “Nazrul rocking gig on stage tonight. Vivekananda College !! Love you all,” he wrote.

KK sang in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Assamese. After falling ill, the singer was taken to a private hospital on Diamond Harbor Road. According to reports, while performing on stage, he complained that he was not feeling well.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first to condole KK’s death on social media. “Saddened by the untimely demise of renowned singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs depicted a wide range of emotions, which was associated with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” wrote PM Modi.

Bollywood music composer Pritam wrote, ‘Very shocked. Heard about KK. Please someone tell me this is not true.”

Rapper Baba Sehgal wrote, “The voice I loved the most and my extraordinarily talented collaborator KK is no more. Absolute shocker. Rip my friend.”

Messages of tribute also came from across the border. Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali wrote, “Can’t believe the terrible news I just heard! Singer KK is no more! This is shocking and extremely sad. Just doesn’t feel right. What a singer! May he rest in peace #KK”

KK was considered one of the top singers of Bollywood. He sang many hit songs in various movies. Some of KK’s most popular songs that remain his best include Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai (Gangster), Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil Se (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), Awarapan Banjarapan (Jism), Aankhen Mein Teri Ajab Si (Gangster). Om Shanti Om). ) and Khuda Jaane (Bachna O Haseeno). His songs Yaaron, released in 1999, made him a household name.
