British High Commissioner enjoys Mumbai’s sandwich and chilli ice cream, shares photo

The true essence of Mumbai’s food culture is defined by its street food. The metropolis is famous for its roadside food stalls that serve a variety of delicious snacks. Be it the classic vada pav, batata vada, dabeli or misal pav, these street food dishes have a fan following not only in India but across the world. Recently, British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis was also seen having a taste of Mumbai’s famous snack from a roadside stall. Alex Ellis is a foodie at heart and often posts pictures of himself trying famous food items in various Indian cities.

Mr Ellis shared two pictures of himself trying the snack on Twitter. In the photo, we can see him enjoying Mumbai’s famous sandwich and Chilli ice cream. The post was captioned, “Eating like a #Mumbaikar today – trying Mumbai Sandwich and Chilli Ice Cream. #BombaySandwich.” Not only this, he also added “Aao Khao” in Marathi to his caption. Since being uploaded, the post has garnered over 128.4K views, 2.3K likes and several comments. Internet users were impressed by Alice’s willingness to try different types of food in Indian cuisine. Well, this is not the first time that the British High Commissioner has tasted delicious Indian food. Earlier in September, they were seen enjoying an Onam Sadhya meal on a large banana leaf at Kerala House in New Delhi. The caption of the post read, “I had an amazing Onam Sadhana at Kerala House.
