Kolkata is home to some of the foodie delicacies in the entire country. Be it the crunchy street-style rolls or the tangy jhal muri, there is a lot to choose from. Recently, industrialist Harsh Goenka took to Twitter to describe the street food of the city as the best in the country. British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis visited Kolkata and tasted one of the city’s famous sweets – rasgulla. Take a look at the picture shared by him:

He wrote in Bengali on Twitter, “I’m so happy to be in Kolkata, India’s most beloved city. Here at Esplanade K. The outlet he was referring to was KC Das, one of the city’s most popular eateries . Alex Ellis Enjoying sweets from an earthen pot with a big smile on his face. He was welcomed with garlands and tika on his visit.
Domestic Twitter users expressed surprise and happiness after seeing the British High Commissioner in Kolkata. Many requested him to try some of the other famous sweets and delicacies of the city.
