British PM Rishi Sunak’s daughter performs Ku Chipudi at dance festival in London

Anushka Sunak performed at the International Kuchipudi Dance Festival.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s daughter Anushka Sunak performed Kuchipudi dance with many children in London on Friday. Nine-year-old Anushka participated in the International Kuchipudi Dance Festival 2022 competition ‘Rang’, which is the biggest festival of this dance form in the UK.

Around 100 artistes in the age group of 4-85 years, including live musicians, elderly dance artistes (65+ years group), wheelchair dancers with physical disabilities, international bursary student group from Poland, Natrang Group.

Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy’s daughter and Anushka’s mother Akshara Murthy attended the dance event along with Rishi Sunak’s parents. Rishi is the 57th Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the first person of Indian origin to hold the office.

The Indian-origin former chancellor defied the rules by moving back to the smaller flat at 10 Downing Street, which is normally used as the home of the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Sunak told the Times newspaper, “I thought it would be nice for their chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, to have a little extra space, so I thought it was the right thing to do.”

At 42, she is the youngest British Prime Minister in 200 years. He is the first Hindu to hold the highest office in the country and has a statue of Ganesha on his desk.
