BSF opened fire on Indo-Pak border in Jammu on suspicion of drone

BSF personnel briefly opened fire along the India-Pakistan border in Jammu district on Tuesday when a humming sound was heard, prompting suspicion that a drone was flying.

A BSF official said that alert soldiers fired two rounds after hearing the sound of hum from a height of about 800 meters in Akhnoor area.

He said that all concerned have been informed and detailed information is awaited.

A senior Border Security Force official said the threat of drones is present everywhere along the India-Pakistan border, but the security forces are on alert to thwart any nefarious designs from across the border.

He said that the Army and BSF are completely dominating the Line of Control (LoC) to ensure the safety of the people along the border.
