BSF seizes consignment of arms and heroin with IB in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba

Officials said the consignment was found packed in white colored sacks hidden in “sarkanda” (wild grass) near Chamliyal border post.

The Border Security Force (BSF) seized a consignment of weapons and heroin along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on January 3, officials said.

He said that the consignment was found hidden in ‘sarkanda’ (wild grass) in a white colored sack near Chamliyal border post.

Officials said the seizure included five magazines with three AK rifles, seven magazines with four pistols, five packets of heroin and some ammunition.

Officials said the sack was seen during patrolling, adding that it had marks of “Karachi Fertilizers Company Limited”.

It was not immediately known whether the consignment was dropped by drones or smuggled across the border by arms and drug smugglers, officials said, adding that further details were awaited.
