BTS: 50 million people watch free concert for Busan’s 2030 World Expo bid

Nearly 50 million people watched the free concert by K-pop sensation BTS in Busan, South Korea. The free ‘BTS’ Yet to Come in Busan’ concert was held in support of the Korean city’s bid to host 2030. Online live streaming through Weavers, a fan platform operated by the band’s management group Hybe Entertainment, claimed nearly 49 million views. Local TV broadcasts on JTBC in Korea claimed a high rating of 3.3 percent, suggesting at least another million TV viewers.

The online viewing volume was so high that the platform weavers often ran into network errors, frustrating fans around the world.

The concert began with ‘Mic Drop’ and continued with ‘Run BTS’, playing a total of 19 songs. Jin, Jimin, Wei and Jung Kook performed ’00:00 (Zero O’Clock)’ and ‘Butterfly’ for the unit’s performance, while RM, Suga and J-Hope performed ‘Ugh!’ staged. and ‘BTS Cypher Pt.3: Killer’.
