Build Kondampatti Primary School at a safe place: Villagers

Residents of Kondampatti near Gudimangalam in Udumalpet block approached Tiruppur district collector S. Urged Vineet to construct a government primary school at a safe place in the village.

In a petition filed at the weekly grievance redressal meeting on Monday, the villagers said that a new building was constructed for the primary school at Kondampatti as the old building was in a dilapidated condition. The land on which the construction was going on belonged to a temple.

He also told that it was a low-lying area which was believed to be a stream. He said that this would affect the children during the rainy season and demanded to allot a safe place for the school.

Members of the Palladam Taluk Consumer Awareness Movement alleged in their petition that despite orders by the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal to compensate victims in road accidents involving state-run buses, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) is not handling accident claims. Wasn’t thinking.

Around 113 cases were registered in Tiruppur district between 2017 and 2022, he added. The tribunal had passed orders in 50 such cases and compensation of Rs 5 crore was yet to be paid to the victims, he said and appealed to the collector to settle them at the earliest.

Shri Vineet received a total of 638 petitions related to various grievances and directed the officials to redress them at the earliest.
