New Delhi: The National Logistics Policy was an important step towards “Building a Developed India”, and the policy came with a “New Energy for Every Sector”, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching the policy in Delhi on Saturday.
The prime minister, who turned 72 on Saturday, also said that the national logistics policy “did not come out of the blue” and that “eight years of hard work” was behind it.
A major objective of logistics policy is to reduce logistics costs and improve the competitiveness of household goods in the global market.
PM Modi described the policy as a solution to many problems and said it would improve “all our systems”.
“There is a constant effort to find solutions to the challenges of fast last mile delivery, transportation to save time and money of our manufacturers and industries, all these subjects,” Modi said.
He said: “The National Logistics Policy is one form of a solution to this. I believe that there will be coordination among the various units of government working in these areas with a holistic approach to improve all our systems.
