Bureaucrat shares picture of old Indian coins, Internet says ‘the beautiful era of 90s is gone’

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Awanish Sharan often shares engaging posts that pique the interest of internet users. This time, Mr. Sharan shared a picture on Twitter that made users, especially 90s kids, nostalgic.

The IAS officer posted a picture showing six different Indian money from the year 1968 onwards. In the caption, he asked his followers if they bought anything with him. “With which of these coins did you buy anything?” Mr. Sharan wrote in Hindi.

Mr Sharan shared the picture just a few hours ago and since then his post has been viewed over a million times and over 15,000 likes. Netizens were quick to react in the comments section. While some shared memories of buying something with the denomination, others simply wrote, “the beautiful era of 90s is gone”.

One user wrote, “God! So old. I remember we used to get chingum for 20 paise.” “50 paise – Eclairs, paan pasand, mango bite,” commented another.

A third user said, “I think you have lost 1 paise coin. I had 10 such coins in class I and thought I was a very rich person. Those were the days,” while a fourth said, “Nostalgia sir.. sabi use kiya kiya hai (used them all).”

A fifth said, “We used to take 10 paise as individual contribution from each player to play matches on Sundays. The beautiful era of the 90s is gone.”

IAS Avneesh Sharan is an avid social media user. Earlier this week, he shared a video that featured Man’s unlikely friendship with the stork, Sharan wrote in the caption of his post, “Arif saved the life of an injured bird last year. Since then both are friends.”

The video quickly took the internet by storm. In the comments section, users were impressed with the special bond between the bird and the man. Some called it ‘true love’ while some wrote, ‘love has no boundaries’.
