‘Can someone help me?’: Pakistan PM’s awkward moment at SCO summit watch

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which is being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, two years after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sharif faced a strange moment yesterday while arranging a meeting with Putin. He called for help when the earphones were not on.

In the video, the Pakistan PM can be heard saying, “Can someone help me?”

Before the meeting began, his earplugs fell off and someone came to fix him, causing Putin to laugh lightly. Take a look at the video below,

The SCO member states are holding their first individual summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan after two years and the summit will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The last two meetings in 2021 and 2022 were virtually hosted by Tajikistan and Russia.

The Beijing-headquartered SCO is an eight-member economic and security bloc comprising China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan.

Today, PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will come face-to-face on Friday for the first time at the 22nd SCO summit, as deadly border conflicts in 2020 soured ties between the Asian rivals. He will also meet Vladimir Putin, the Russian President since the Russo-Ukraine War.

India has called for deepening cooperation on concerns relating to regional security, defence, counter-terrorism, illicit drug trade, etc. and to promote peace, prosperity and stability throughout the Eurasian region and SCO member states in general. Serious efforts have been made for Specific.
