by director Anurag Kashyap Kennedy Organizers announced Thursday that it is moving to the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival. The film will be screened under the midnight screening section of the prestigious film gala.
Film distributor Iris Knobloch and Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux made the announcement at a press conference in Cannes.
The Cannes Film Festival shared the update on its official Twitter page.
“Kennedy #SéanceDeMinuit / #MidnightScreenings #Cannes2023 by Anurag Kashyap,” read the post.
Kashyap has been a regular presence at the Cannes Film Festival.
Before that, there was his multicultural gangster cult classic gangs of wasseypur(2012) was screened at the 2012 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, an independent selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
anthology film Bombay Talkieson which Kashyap served as one of the directors, which premiered as part of a special screening at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
Kashyap’s thriller ugly Screened in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, receiving a standing ovation, he followed with the neo-noir thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 which debuted at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in the Director’s Fortnight section.
