Car launches in India in October 2022: Glanza CNG to MG Hector – Times of India

1. MG Hector Facelift
MG Motor India recently launched the facelifted MG Gloster in the Indian market and now the company is ready to roll out the new and updated MG Hector.
The updated MG Hector will get a revised front end with a larger “Argyle-inspired” diamond-mesh grille with prominent chrome surrounds at the top of the grille.
On the interiors, the SUV will now feature a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded e-SIM. In addition, the SUV will get a revised dashboard design with new horizontal AC vents and a center console with a new flowing design with a new gear lever.
The updated MG Hector is also expected to get Level-2 ADAS technology which includes Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.
No changes are expected mechanically, the SUV will be offered with two 143hp, 1.5-litre petrol engines – one with mild-hybrid technology – and a Fiat-derived 2.0-litre Multijet turbo diesel engine producing 170 bhp. produces power.
The price of 2022 MG Hector is likely to be around Rs 1.5 lakh-2 lakh more than the current model. When launched, the SUVs will be available in Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and . continues to compete with Nissan kick.
2. BYD Atto 3 EV
BYD (Build Your Dreams) is all set to launch the Atto 3 EV in the Indian market on 11 October. At launch, the Atto 3 EV will compete with rivals like Tata Nexon EV, MZ ZS EV, Hyundai Kona EV and Mahindra XUV400 Electric. ,
Talking about Atto 3 BYD Currently sells the Atto 3 in markets such as Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. In Australia, the electric car is available in two different battery pack options.
These 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh battery packs offer 345 km and 420 km range respectively. We expect these two battery pack options for the BYD Atto 3 EV to be available in India as well.
The Atto 3 EV will arrive in India via the SKD (semi-knocked down) assembly route. The car parts will be procured from overseas and assembled at the company’s Chennai plant here.
In terms of pricing, the Atto 3 EV is expected to start at Rs.25 lakhs by BYD.
3. Toyota Glanza CNG
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is expected to launch a CNG powered variant Toyota Glanza this month.
The Glanza CNG will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine, however, the power output for the CNG will drop from around 90hp to around 77hp. The Glanza CNG will only be available with a manual transmission and not an AMT.
The Toyota Glanza is available in four trims – E, G, S and V. Of these four trims, Toyota is expected to offer the CNG Glanza in G, S and V trim levels, and will skip the base E trim.
In terms of pricing, we expect Toyota to charge a premium of around Rs 75,000 for the CNG-powered variant.
4. Nissan’s New Electric SUV
Nissan India has sent us an invitation for 18 October 2022. Nissan India has managed to keep the details of the incident a secret. The invitation states that ‘Move Beyond’ marks the debut of an electric vehicle. We are expecting Nissan to unveil the Aria EV in India, which made its global debut in July 2020. The electric SUV is claimed to offer a range of up to 500 km per charge and is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh.
