Mahindra & Mahindra last month reported an 8 per cent increase in sales at 20,130 units in October 2021 as against 18,622 units sold in the same month a year ago. Mahindra’s spurt in sales comes at a time when the entire industry is grappling with the problem of semiconductor shortage and is reporting a decline in sales due to lack of production. That being said, the increase in Mahindra’s sales numbers is mainly due to the huge demand for the new Mahindra XUV700 which has received over 60,000 bookings. The company has already announced that it will complete all deliveries by January 14 and have already dispatched the booked cars to dealerships across India with deliveries commencing in the last week of October 2021.
