Amidst reports claiming the car to be of a TRS worker, BJP MP K Laxman said the incident should be probed.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s convoy had to make a brief halt at a Telangana tourism hotel here on Saturday during his visit to the city to attend the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations as a car obstructed their movement. Amid reports claiming that the car belonged to a TRS worker, BJP MP K Laxman said the incident should be probed.

Police, however, said that the brief halt was purely accidental as the driver of the car could not drive the vehicle properly at that place. Shah held a meeting with state BJP leaders at the hotel.

During his visit to the city, he participated in the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ celebrations at the Parade Ground here to commemorate the merger of the erstwhile Hyderabad State under Nizam’s rule with the Indian Union on September 17, 1948. Shah also participated in an event where he distributed equipment to ‘Divyangjan’ (persons with disabilities) on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
