Cars coming to India in July 2022: Citroen C3, New Hyundai Tucson, Creta-rivaling Maruti mid-size SUV and more – Times of India

So far, 2022 has been the year of launching some big cars in India, especially the month of June, which saw many debuts including some big names like Mahindra Scorpio-N, new Maruti Suzuki Brezza among others. Hyundai Venue facelift, Toyota Urban Cruiser Haider, as well as Volkswagen Vertus (price announced). July car launches are expected to go big as well, with some notable new offerings either ready for launch or unveiling.
Here is a list of all the cars that are set to make their debut in the country this month i.e. July 2022 –
Maruti Suzuki Mid-Size SUV
Toyota recently revealed the Creta-rivaling urban cruiser Haider mid-size SUV based on Maruti Suzuki’s Global C platform as a part of the alliance between the two Japanese manufacturers. Now, Maruti is all set to reveal its variant of the same SUV on July 20, which could possibly be named ‘Grand Vitara’ or even ‘Vitara’.

In all likelihood, the new Maruti Suzuki SUV will serve as a replacement for the S-Cross, and will be made available through the company’s premium Nexa dealerships across the country. Like its Toyota cousin, the upcoming Maruti car will also be offered with 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrains, the former with optional all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
Citroen C3
Citroen is set to launch its second product in India this month, i.e. the C3 hatch – the price of which will be revealed on July 20. Citroen has started taking bookings for the car, and the C3 has started arriving at dealerships as well.

At launch, the C3 will be available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit (82 PS/115Nm) and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor (110 PS/190 Nm), which will be available with a 5-speed MT and 6. -speed mt respectively. Prices of the car are expected to start from around Rs 5.5 – 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai has confirmed that the India-spec Tucson SUV will be unveiled on July 13, with a launch expected in August. Upon arrival, the Tucson will become Hyundai’s flagship SUV in the Indian market.

Apart from the radical design changes, the new generation SUV is also expected to get new technology like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a similarly sized instrument cluster, a tri-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof. As well as the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Volvo XC40 Recharge
Based on the XC40 SUV, the fully electric XC40 Recharge was originally scheduled to launch last year. However, the debut was postponed and is now scheduled to take place on July 26. The e-SUV will be offered with a dual electric motor setup with a combined power and torque output of 408 PS and 660 Nm.

The Volvo EV has a claimed range of 418 on a single charge, and can support fast charging of up to 150 kW which can juice up the battery from 0 to 80% in about 40 minutes. The 11 kW AC charger can charge it from 0 to 100% in 8 – 10 hours. We expect the XC40 recharge to cost around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Audi A8Took
Audi is all set to launch the all-new A8L in the Indian market on July 12, with bookings for the flagship luxury sedan already open at dealerships and online. The price of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series rival is expected to be around Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom).

Apart from the new sharp design, the new A8 L is expected to get a host of features like a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with an 8.6-inch curved display at the bottom for climate control and seating functions, to name a few. The 2022 A8 L will likely be powered by a 3.0-litre turbo petrol motor with mild-hybrid technology producing 340 PS.
