Case against Congress leader Srinivas Biwi, Assam Police leaves for Karnataka

The Assam Police on Saturday registered a case against Indian Youth Congress president Srinivas Beevi on the basis of a complaint by a former Congress leader.

In his complaint, he accused Srinivas BV of “harassing” and “discriminating” against him for the past 6 months.

According to the Assam Police, a case was registered at the Dispur police station under sections 509,294,341,352,354,354A (iv) of the Information Technology Act and 506 IPC RW section 67.

On the other hand, a team of Assam Police has left for Karnataka on Saturday to investigate the matter. A senior Assam Police officer told ANI over phone that a police team of 4-5 members has left for Karnataka.

On the other hand, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Saturday expelled the woman from the party for six years for “anti-party activities”.

The order was issued after Dutta accused Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas BV and her IYC secretary in-charge Vardhan Yadav of “harassing” and “discriminating” against him for the past 6 months.
