Police have registered a case against a teacher for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old girl at a school in Maharashtra’s Beed city. An official gave this information on Sunday.

Police have registered a case against a teacher for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old girl at a school in Maharashtra’s Beed city. An official gave this information on Sunday. The incident took place on Friday at a private educational institution. The 33-year-old teacher allegedly molested a Class IV student and then warned her not to inform anyone, an official of Shivaji Nagar police station said.

The victim later informed her family members after which her father and other relatives went to the school and sought an explanation from its management. The officer said that they also beat up the accused in the school. Later, the local police reached the school and pacified the girl’s family members. Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the police booked the teacher under sections 354 (molestation) and 354-A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code as well as provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) registered. Act, the official said. Police said that no arrest has been made so far.
