Caste free politics, SCS and JSP for uninterrupted social fabric: Pawan Kalyan

Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan says Jana Sena Party (JSP) will stand for caste-free politics, special category status (SCS) and a society that is united as Andhra Pradesh and not castes and sub-divisions. As castes. In an exclusive conversation with The Hindu at his party office here, the JSP chief says that the ruling YSR Congress has failed on all the promises made to the people and is going extinct in many districts.

Commenting that the present government has promoted rivalry between castes through unwanted means, Mr. Pawan said that the state should unite as the people of Andhra Pradesh to restore the social fabric and achieve the JSP goal. Will try to get

YSRCP must go as it has betrayed the youth, employees, teachers and farmers. According to him, the party ignored the fight for the SCS, despite sufficient strength in Parliament.

“Instead of banning alcohol, its sale is promoted through several brands. and no capital city for AP; No development, roads in pathetic condition, no new industries and no employment. All sections of the society are unhappy with the governance and the way the leaders are facing the heat of the masses today, it is evident,” Mr. Pawan explained the reason. The damage is gradual, not noticed all at once. YSRCP has been swept away in some districts and is rapidly disappearing in many districts, he remarked.

Speaking about the irreparable damage done to AP through irrational and unfair division, he said that political parties have sacrificed the interests of the people for their selfishness. “Eight years later, many issues of bifurcation are pending and unresolved and it was a huge loss for AP but the parties have become mute spectators. The people will not remain silent; They will give it back. As we can see, Congress has lost Andhra Pradesh and TDP has lost Telangana.

JSP is going strong:

The party chief said the JSP was growing from strength to strength and could build an army of different levels of cadre and leadership across the state. “We have come a long way in consolidating leadership from the grassroots level. Today, we have over 3.6 lakh committed party workers across the state. They are involved in connecting other like-minded people in search of right change in the state. The identification of candidates for the upcoming elections is also being done actively. We keep working regardless of the outcome. We fought against all odds and will continue to do so.”

It was given to understand that the party is not too concerned about alliances nor the upcoming elections. It can go alone or it can go with BJP or TDP or both. Unlike the previous two elections in 2014 and 2019, the party will give a tough fight in 2024. For the record, he supported the TDP and the BJP in the last two elections.

During the 2019 elections, the YSRCP won a landslide victory with 151 out of a total of 175 assembly seats, followed by its main rival Telugu Desam Party with 23 seats. JSP entered with one seat. Congress and BJP have also contested elections but won zero seats.

Political Entry:

Stating that his entry into politics was never an accident, Mr. Pawan says the trigger was an incident in United Andhra Pradesh where he was interrupted by a political unit when he decided to do public service by spending his own money about 15 years ago. had tried. “Initially I wanted to join public service through an NGO, but later followed my inner call to enter politics. I have been playing here for a long time and am looking for a positive change.”

Impressed by Modi’s leadership

The actor-cum-politician finds Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership influential and says the latter has contributed to the much-needed unity among people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. “My first introduction to Mr. Modi and his administration was when I was shooting in Gujarat, when he was the chief minister. It was really exemplary,” said Mr. Pawan.
