Castrol: Geo-BP, MG Motor and Castrol in electric mobility partnership in India – Times of India

In a development that is likely to boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption and mobility in India, MG Motor India And Castrol India Ready to tie up with Jio-BP to explore mobility solutions for electric cars. Under the partnership, Jio-bp, MG Motor And castrol Will explore setting up a four-wheel EV charging infrastructure and expanding Castrol’s existing auto service network to cater to EV customers.
This partnership claims to be in line with Jio-BP and MG Motor’s commitment to provide electric car customers with a vast and reliable charging infrastructure and accelerate EV adoption in India. Jio-bp claims that it is creating an ecosystem that will benefit all stakeholders in the EV value chain and last year, the company built and launched India’s two largest EV charging hubs. JV’s electric mobility business, providing charging infrastructure to Indian consumers, operates under the Jio-bp Pulse brand. With the Jio-bp Pulse mobile app, customers can find nearby charging stations and charge their EVs seamlessly.
The strategic partnership aims to build EV-friendly roads for inter-city and intra-city travel by establishing a robust EV charging and service infrastructure in the country. With the launch of India’s first pure electric internet SUV – the ZS EV that offers an updated range of 461 km on a single charge, MG has taken several steps towards strengthening the EV ecosystem.
Under the partnership, Castrol will develop and expand its existing multi-brand auto service network and express oil change Center to start service of four wheeler electric cars. These services will be offered at Geo-BP Mobility stations across India as well as select Castrol Auto Service workshops to service both EV and non-EV four wheelers. In addition, Castrol will help establish EV charging infrastructure across its auto service network. With increasing EV adoption, car mechanics will need training on the latest automotive technologies. Castrol will leverage its access to a vast pool of car mechanics by providing them with specialized EV training and certification.
