CAT 2022 Exam: Registration will start from tomorrow. Eligibility, Other Details

Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most popular exams conducted in India. The registration process for this will start from tomorrow and will continue till September 14.

CAT 2022 will be conducted in exam centers spread over 150 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose six alternate cities. CAT Center will try its best to ensure that a candidate gets one of the preferred options. In case of high demand in a particular area, CAT Center reserves the right to allot a center closer to any preferred option.

Once the center is allotted to a candidate, no change is allowed.

CAT 2022 It will be held in three sessions on November 27, 2022 (Sunday).

The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. There will be three sections:

Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

Section III: Quantitative Ability

Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes to answer questions in each section and they will not be allowed to move from one section to another while answering questions in one section.

Eligibility:

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories]Awarded by any University or Educational Institution incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be a University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development Keep it up, Government of India.

However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the program provisionally, if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institute ( issued on or before the date prescribed by the concerned IIM) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of certificate.

Candidates applying for CAT 2022 must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

Completed Bachelor’s degree with required percentage of marks*.

Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India)

(FIAI)) with required percentage*.

Must be in final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage*.

*SC/ST/PWD candidates should have a minimum of 45%. For General, EWS and NC-OBC

candidates, the minimum is 50%. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate will be calculated on the basis of the practice adopted by the concerned University/Institute. In case of Grade/CGPA, the change in percentage of marks will be based on the process certified by the concerned University/Institute. If a University/Institute confirms that there is no plan to convert the CGPA into equivalent marks, equivalence will be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.

IIMs can verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are given on the website www.iimcat.ac.in. Applicants should note that mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs. Candidates will have to declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile phone number during the selection process.

Test date: November 27, 2022

Result Declaration: 2nd week of January, 2023 (tentative)
