CBI raid on Delhi Deputy CM triggers ‘conspiracy against AAP’ ruckus in Himachal

The raids by the Central Bureau of Investigation at Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence and other places as well as registration of an FIR in the Excise Policy case have created a political storm with the Aam Aadmi Party in Himachal Pradesh. (AAP) alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party government was targeting its top leaders to prevent them from visiting the hill state ahead of the assembly elections.

“A deliberate attempt is being made to prevent the leaders from strengthening the party ahead of the elections. Earlier, Satyendar Jain was implicated, and now these raids on the deputy CM come two days after the announcement of five education-related guarantees in Shimla,” AAP Himachal Pradesh President Surjit Thakur said on Friday. The people of the state are watching all this and they will give a befitting reply to the BJP in the upcoming elections.

Alleging a pattern, Thakur said Jain was also targeted when he started doing extensive tours of the state and strategizing for victory.

“He was making people aware of how the BJP, through its street meetings and visits to distant villages, deprived them of basic facilities. This scared the BJP and he was arrested. “And now that Sisodia was taking keen interest in Himachal’s affairs and had promised to change the state’s education system, he has also been implicated.”

Thakur also criticized the central agencies for “acting on the directions of the BJP”.

“The CBI and ED do not have the courage to act against BJP leaders. Why don’t they investigate Gujarat’s fake liquor scam, in which over 100 people were killed? Thakur said.

However, the ruling BJP in Himachal Pradesh rejected these allegations.

BJP general secretary Trilok Jamwal said, “AAP leaders are already preparing their ground as they are now sure that they will lose.” They are leveling baseless allegations against autonomous bodies like ED.”

Jamwal said that if AAP leaders are not guilty, they will be set free. He said the party has already faced failed rallies and public gatherings, and that is why it is making such false allegations.
