Students who will appear in the CBSE board exams next year will get at least 40% aptitude based questions in class 10 exams and 30% questions for students appearing in class 12 board exams. This information was given by Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi in ​​reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha.

These questions will consist of multiple formats such as Objective Type, Constructed Response Type, Assertion and Argumentation and Case Based.

“In pursuance of NEP-2020, CBSE is introducing competency-based questions in class 10 and 12 board examinations to improve the pattern of examinations. These questions will include objective type, constructed response type, assertion and reasoning and cases including multiple formats like .based formats,” said Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi.

“In the academic session 2022-23, about 40 per cent questions in class 10 board exams and about 30 per cent questions in class 12 are merit-based,” the minister said.

The theory exams for class 10 and class 12 for the academic year will begin from February 15, 2023. However, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet announced the exam schedule.

The minister further said that after the introduction of the new National Education Policy, 2020, CBSE had advised the affiliated schools to follow the recommendations regarding the pattern of education.

“Prominent among these are – Competency based learning, Adoption of learning outcomes, Art integrated learning, Sports integrated learning, Story telling etc. Use of experiential and joyful pedagogy, Emphasis on foundational literacy and numeracy, Involvement of qualified counselors for secondary and senior secondary level,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday said that the purported datesheets of Class 10 and Class 12 examinations circulating on social media are fake.

The board is yet to announce the exam date sheet, and the officials said that it will be done soon.

A senior board official said, “Many versions of the datesheet are fake. The exam schedule will be announced soon and students and parents should wait for the official information.”

The board had earlier announced that it will conduct theory exams for classes 10 and 12 for the academic year from February 15, 2023.

“Practical examinations will begin from January 1 and schools have been directed to complete the syllabus by then. Practical examinations for class 12 will be conducted only by external examiners appointed by the board, while for class 10 these will be conducted by .by internal examiners,” the official explained.

The board has also released subject wise CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 sample papers along with the marking scheme for all subjects.
