CBSE Class 10, 12 Term 1 Board: When can students expect results?

According to some reports, CBSE may declare the result soon. However, no official comment has been made by the board on this issue yet. CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma was recently quoted as saying that an update on the results would be done ‘soon’. There are also speculations that the results will come this week.

Till the official announcement, students can check the official website of CBSE for updates on their Term 2 exam along with results.

Whenever the results are declared, they can be accessed through CBSE website cbse.gov.in, Digilocker app or website, UMANG app or through SMS.

The board has decided that this time, the results will be released in the form of marks obtained by the candidates and no student appearing in the examination will be called “pass” or “fail”. The final results of both the classes will be released by CBSE after the end of Term 2 examination.

Marks will also be moderated after Term 2 exam.

Why is CBSE using moderation policy?

  • According to the official website, Policy will be used to compensate the candidates for difficulties experienced in solving the question in a specified time due to misinterpretation/ambiguity of questions and errors.
  • To compensate for irregularities and bring about uniformity in the evaluation process.
  • Bring equality because of the element of subjectivity involved in the evaluation process.
  • Level of average achievements in set-wise performance of candidates due to difference in difficulty level of different sets of question papers in multiple set scheme.
  • Maintain the parity of pass percentage of the candidates in the current year as compared to the previous years subject wise and overall.
