CBSE Class 10, 12 Term 2 Board Exams: Check Subject Wise Guidelines, Tips

CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said, “The Board, after discussions with various stakeholders and keeping in view the situation of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, has decided to conduct Term 2 examination offline.”

While a detailed datasheet for the exam is yet to come, the board also said that it will follow subjective pattern Which was released along with the sample question papers for the exam.

The sample papers were released last month on the academic website of CBSE.

Keeping this in view, here are some topic-wise guidelines and tips that students can follow:

  • For Class 10 Science and Social Science papers, try the answers by following the inverted pyramid rule. Try to put the points in an orderly manner, with the most important points first.
  • If the question asks you to differentiate between two things, write the answer in column-wise format.
  • For two marks question, please write at least four marks with examples. For a question of five marks, you are expected to write about five marks. Don’t forget to summarize in the last sentence.
  • Use a sharp pencil, draw neat pictures and label them. Follow this exercise for questions of at least five marks or more.
  • In social science, when you are attempting map work – don’t forget to put the question number on the top left corner of the map and circle it.
  • While navigating through the question, you should first jot down all the information in the order it appears. Formats for math answers can be given – to find, formulae, proof format and answer in units.
  • Always make a margin on the left side of the answer sheet keeping in view the supplementary sheets. In Maths Board Exam, also make a margin on the right side of the answer sheet for rough work.
  • If there is graph paper, mark and label the axis. Make sure you write down the question number and scale on the graph paper. Try placing the graph paper in the middle of the answer sheet or next to the question.
  • For Class 12 English Exam, always read the questions carefully before going through the passage. Always keep in mind the word limit of letters or essays.
  • Leave additional information. For example, if you are asked to write down the advantages of something, stick to the advantages. Don’t write loss.

The CBSE Class 10 board exams began on November 30 and lasted till December 11, while the class 12 board exams lasted till December 22.

For the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the board is conducting the board exams in two phases.

The CBSE Term 1 exam was conducted objectively, i.e. the question paper had Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
