CBSE Class 10, 12 Term 2 Board: Practical exams to begin from March 2

The board will appoint external examiners for the practical conduct of class 12, while the class 10 students will be supervised by the school itself.

The marks of practical/internal assessment will be uploaded together from March 2 till the last date of the respective class.

Schools have been instructed to conduct these examinations as per all COVID-19 safety protocols.

“To avoid overcrowding and social distancing, schools may consider dividing the group/batch of students into sub groups of 10 students each. The first group of 10 students can indulge in lab work while the second is doing pen and paper work and vice versa,” read the recently released CBSE guidelines.

Class 10, 12. For Term 2 Theory Exam

Moreover, the board is planning to conduct Theory in offline mode from April 26.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking cancellation of physical examination for classes 10 and 12 to be conducted by all state boards, CBSE, ICSE and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), observing that Such petitions give false hope to the students and only create. more confusion.

A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar reprimanded the petitioner’s counsel for filing such a petition, saying that the authorities are more aware of the ground reality and are capable of taking decisions in which the court should not interfere.

“Such petitions give false hopes to students. Entertaining such petitions is only adding to confusion in the system. What kind of petitions are being filed?” asked the top court.

The bench said that its last year’s order to postpone the examination cannot become a rule to pass the same order for this academic year also.

“This petition is unfair and premature. The authorities are yet to decide for the examination rules and dates in the respective boards. If the decisions are not in accordance with the rules and the Act, the aggrieved persons are open to challenge in that regard. Will be.” The bench dismissed the petition and said.

The top court said it was refraining from levying the cost, but added that exemplary cost would be levied if the petitioner again filed such a petition.

The CBSE Term 1 Class 10 board exams began on 30 November and lasted till 11 December, while the class 12 board exams lasted till 22 December.

For the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the board is conducting the board exams in two phases.

Term 1 exam was conducted objectively, i.e. the question paper had Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
