CBSE Term 1 result: Experts who drafted controversial English, social exams left out

Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Held in November-December 2021 for class 12 and 10 examination, in which two questions – one to one class 12 sociology paper and second from class 10 english exam, raised controversy. Now, the board has removed two subject experts from the paper-setting panel, a leading news daily reported. In addition, CBSE has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Controller of Examinations Pawanesh Kumar to oversee the paper-setting process.

The first question, for which the board had also issued an apology, was in the question paper prescribed for the subject of Sociology for class 12th. It was a multiple choice question – “Under which government did Gujarat have an unprecedented level and spread of anti-Muslim violence in 2002?” The options given for the answer were ‘Congress,’ ‘BJP,’ ‘Democratic’ and ‘Republican’.

The second question was listed in the question paper of class 10 English subject. the question was Known as misogynistic and aggressive towards women. The question was in the form of a paragraph and read, “What people were slow to observe was that the wife’s emancipation destroyed the parental authority over the children. Mother did not give an example of the obedience she still tried to insist. ,

When Sonia Gandhi raised the question and called it a “shockingly regressive way”, the English way was despised in the Lok Sabha. He listed portions of the passage and called them “atrocious”.

An official of the constituted committee told Dainik Samachar that it will oversee the entire process and keep an eye on the things that need to be changed. Apart from this, the officials also mentioned that the questions coming from outside the textbook tend to get bogged down in the rote manner.

CBSE Term I Class 10, 12 results are expected to be declared soon on the official website – cbse.nic.in. According to the reports, it January 24 is likely to be announced tomorrow. The board usually releases the notification a day before the declaration of the results.
