CBSE to take ‘strict action’ on Gujarat violence in class 12 sociology exam

The question asked, “Under which government did the unprecedented scale and spread of anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat take place in 2022?” Under which the options given were Congress, Democratic, BJP and Republican. Students had to select the correct option and circle it in the OMR sheet.

Soon after the exam, CBSE issued a public statement stating the question was against its guidelines. “A question has been asked in today’s Class 12 Sociology Term 1 exam which is inappropriate and is in violation of CBSE guidelines for outside subject experts to set up the question paper. CBSE has acknowledged the error made and against the responsible persons Will take strict action.” CBSE.

Based on the responses of the students, The Assertion Reasoning type questions in CBSE Sociology exam had two difficult questions‘ section. The 12th exam will continue till December 21. The next paper will be of English on December 3.

On 1st December CBSE has conducted the first class 12 examination under the board examination 2022. For Board Exam 2022, the question paper pattern has changed. This year there will be two exams. Presently, Term 1 examinations are being conducted. In term 1 board exam only MCQs or multiple choice based questions are asked.

CBSE question papers are no longer just based on books or rote but also to assess the critical thinking and understanding of the students, the board had earlier said about its new exam pattern.
