For Jebin Johnny, the mango figure from the Dida collection is dedicated to his childhood memories. “three of us [Jebin and his two sisters] Love mangoes and like any other Malayalee house, we also have a mango tree in our house. We used to have a big mango tree at my relative’s house, and I used to pelt stones on mangoes and share them with my sisters,” says Zebin, “I used to climb the smaller mango tree and pluck the fruit. I remember, on the way home, there was a huge mango tree on the side of the road. During monsoon when the wind was blowing, we used to run and collect all the mangoes. Mangoes are not just mangoes for me, these motifs are my memories and the relationship I have with my sisters.”
In addition to costumes, there are also accessories that have the shape of a mango. From earrings, bracelets to unique scarves, mango motifs and colors are something to look forward to this summer.
Another form resembling mango is paisley. The motif commonly used in sarees has also found a place in Karan Johar’s wardrobe. The filmmaker posted a video on Instagram talking about the motif.
