- What should I follow:
The Boston Celtics began their 2022 NBA Finals campaign as the visitors beat the home team 40–16 in the fourth quarter to take a 120–108 victory in Game 1, giving a homecourt advantage.
But the Golden State Warriors shouldn’t worry because they haven’t lost consecutive playoff games in the first round, West semifinals and conference finals. While NBA history isn’t exactly on the Warriors’ side, the teams winning Game 1 of the Finals eventually win the series 70.7% of the time. But then another common sense strikes the balance. Only eight of the NBA’s 17 teams have won the NBA title since winning Game 1 on the road.
Stephen Curry was not worried after the surprise loss in Game 1. “It’s just about being honest about what went wrong and holding each other accountable and coming out with another level of effort and frustration,” Curry said.
