  • This practical decision was taken in the backdrop of election: Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar said that the central government has decided to repeal three agriculture laws in the backdrop of upcoming elections.

“There are elections in Uttar Pradesh and other neighboring states. As per our information, when those in power visited villages in some parts of these states, they got a somewhat different welcome from the local people. Keeping this in mind “They probably realized how they would get treated if they went to ask for votes. It seems that this pragmatic decision has been taken against this background.”

“If elections were not held in these states in the near future, this decision would not have been taken,” he said.

Pawar further claimed that the situation could have been different today if the states and farmers were taken into confidence before passing the three bills in Parliament.

“If the government had taken the states into confidence and discussed it in Parliament, the situation could have been different. The anger against the Center was only because despite it being a state subject, the states were not taken into confidence and directly Steps were taken at the Centre,” the NCP leader said.

“Farmers felt that they were not even asked or taken into account while taking decisions about their future and hence they started protesting and are still protesting,” he said.

Addressing the issue of stability of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Pawar said, “I firmly believe that this Maharashtra government will complete its five-year term. If they (MVA) contest the next election together, they will again.” Will come to power.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed that the Union Cabinet under the leadership of the Prime Minister has completed the formalities to repeal three agricultural laws.
