Bhubaneswar: The Center has sought the cooperation of the state government for early resolution of pending issues related to various infrastructure projects being implemented in the state.
Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary (Logistics) under the Union Ministry of Commerce, has sent a letter to Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra seeking his intervention.
Meena said that the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) is a mechanism to resolve the issues affecting the central infrastructure projects in coordination with the State Government and the Project Implementation Agency. A total of 80 issues were uploaded in the PMG system till April 1, while 22 new issues were uploaded by various agencies during the year till October 10.
“Out of 102 issues, 29 issues have been resolved so far. However, 73 issues are still pending which require your kind intervention. I am sure these issues will also be resolved under your guidance. The implementation of the projects will be further expedited,” Meena said in her letter to the chief secretary.
The central government official also asked the chief secretary to ask various departments to update the action on the PMG portal so that the progress made by the state can be seen in real time. PMG, a mechanism under the Department of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Union Ministry of Commerce, holds meetings at regular intervals with the state government to discuss and resolve long pending issues related to various projects in the sectors.
