“Centre To Pay By March 15…”: Supreme Court On One Rank One Pension (OROP)

On a petition filed by Indian ex-servicemen regarding the payment of pension under the Under Rank One Pension (OROP) policy, the Supreme Court has asked the Center to ensure that the payment of all dues of OROP can be done expeditiously. The Supreme Court said that the payment was made by March 15. Actually OROP is paid by the personnel of the Armed Forces who retire in the same rank with the same length of service. Whatever may be the date of his retirement. During this AG R Venkataramani said that I am personally monitoring the matter and it will be paid soon. There are 25 lakh pensioners, the list has come to the Ministry for final screening and with the withholding branches of the Ministry of Defence.
