Chaitra Navratri, the first day of the Navratri festival, is dedicated to worshiping Goddess Shailputri, the first incarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga. Shail refers to mountains, and putri, meaning daughter, forms the name Shailputri. She is also known as Sati, Parvati and Hemvati. The image of goddess Shailputri riding a bull symbolizes the power of dharma, or righteousness. She holds a trishul, a lotus flower, a damru and a mala or garland. She wears a red saree and adorns her hands with bracelets and bangles. These symbols represent: bravery and spiritual awakening; purity and wisdom; the rhythmic cycle of life and death; meditation and meditation; And the power as well as the will. worship method
Install the Kalash and sing the mantra of Maa Shailputri. Offer vermilion, flowers, incense, akshat (rice), frankincense, and other items to the goddess as a form of worship. Then recite the Aarti.
