Chandigarh airport will be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh to pay tribute to the great freedom fighter. Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, PM Modi said in the 93rd episode of his monthly Mann Ki Baat address.

PM Narendra Modi said, ‘As a tribute to the great freedom fighter, it has been decided that the Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

PM Modi also urged people to share their views on the campaign for naming cheetahs brought to India from Nambia last week. Cheetahs were released in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

PM Modi said, “It would be great if the naming of cheetahs is according to our traditions. Also, suggest how humans should treat animals. Participate in this competition and maybe you will see cheetahs.” Be the first one.”

He further said that people from every nook and corner of the country expressed happiness over the return of cheetahs and 13 crore Indians are full of pride.

He said a task force would monitor the cheetahs, on the basis of which it would be decided when people can go near the cheetahs.

Cheetahs were declared extinct from India in 1952, but on 17 September, eight cheetahs (5 females and 3 males) were brought from Namibia in Africa as part of ‘Project Cheetah’ and the country’s wildlife and habitat. It was brought in as part of the government’s efforts to revive and diversify.
