Chandrababu Naidu vows to enter the assembly only after returning to power

Chandrababu Naidu announced his decision to stay away from the House “till he is back in power”.

Amaravati:

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday resolved to enter the Andhra Pradesh assembly again only after returning to power.

In an emotional tone, the Leader of the Opposition said in the House that he was hurt by the constant abuses being hurled at him by members of the ruling YSR Congress.

“For the last two-and-a-half years I have been bearing humiliation but kept calm. Today they have targeted my wife as well. I have always lived with dignity and respect. I cannot bear it any longer,” Naidu said. ,

While he continued to speak, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram cut the mic while members of the ruling party called Mr Naidu’s remarks a “drama”.

During a brief discussion on the agriculture sector, the former chief minister expressed his dismay after a heated argument between the two sides in the House.

Later, he had a sudden meeting with the MLAs of his party in his chamber, where he reportedly broke down.

Shocked TDP MLAs consoled Naidu after which they all returned to the House.

Mr Naidu then announced his decision to stay away from the House “until I return to power”.
