A local court here has framed charges against 14 people, including AAP MP Sanjay Singh and former Samajwadi Party MLA Anoop Sanda, in connection with the 2008 street sit-in protest against the electricity department. The MP-MLA court on Saturday framed charges against 14 people. AAP MP’s lawyer Madan Singh Judge Yogesh Kumar Yadav said this on Sunday.
In 2008, a case was registered against 36 people including Singh and Sanda, including District President Raghuveer Yadav, for protesting against the electricity department while sitting on the road in front of Jamal Gate of the city. The protest reportedly led to traffic jams and the protesters blocked the road.
The police has filed a charge sheet against all 36 people in this case. He was present in the court when the charges against Singh were framed.
