Charles III will be declared king in historic ceremony – check out when and where to look

New Delhi: Charles III will be formally proclaimed King of the United Kingdom in a historic ceremony at St. James’s Palace on Saturday (September 10, 2022). Charles, 73, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, automatically became king after the death of his mother. Britain’s longest-reigning Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday at the age of 96, with her son succeeding her as king.

The proclamation is a public announcement of the accession of the new emperor. Saturday’s process at the Accession Council will be a formal declaration of their sovereignty and will be the first time the ceremony will be televised.

There will be a multi-stage process involving King Charles III publicly announcing his new title. The Accession Council, which is made up of senior cabinet ministers, judges and leaders of the Church of England, and will meet without Charles at the State Apartments of St James’s Palace in London to formally declare him as the new sovereign. ,

Among those attending will be Charles’ wife of 17 years, Camilla, who now holds the title of Queen Consort, and the King’s son William, the new Prince of Wales.

When to watch the Annunciation Ceremony of Charles III?

The Council of Accession is held at the State Apartments of St James’s Palace, with the ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday 10 September (UK time). Camilla – the new Queen Consort – will join Prince William and Catherine at the event along with Charles, who have now been named the new Prince and Princess of Wales as they become heirs to the throne.
