Chennai boy solves Rubik’s cube while cycling, sets world record

It took Jayadarshan Venkatesan a little over 14 seconds to solve the Rubik’s cube.

Solving the Rubik’s cube is not an easy task. Many people who have tried to solve it have either lost patience or lost interest after repeated failures. But a boy from Chennai solved the puzzle with incredible speed. Not only that – riding a bicycle, he solved the Rubik’s Cube in mere seconds, a feat that made him a Guinness World Record.

Guinness World Records shared a video of Jayadarshan Venkatesan on Instagram saying that he solved the Rubik’s cube in just 14.32 seconds. In the video, Jaydarshan is shown riding a bicycle and solving the Rubik’s cube with both hands. As he finished the challenge, he raised his hand.

The Guinness World Records in the caption said, “Speedcubing on a bicycle – 14.32 seconds by Jayadarshan Venkatesan (from India).”

The record keeper said in a commentary, that Jayadarshan had been working on his speed solving skills for two years, until he was confident that he would be able to clinch the title.

The social media upload congratulating the boy garnered 262K views and several comments.

“Now, that’s a record,” wrote one user.

Pointing to the boy’s gesture, another said, “The boy is not even smiling, he means business”.

“Impressive for his age, but the basic SpeedCube solver can break it down with some practice if he knows how to ride a bicycle,” read one comment.

A user drew attention to Jayadarshan’s decision to cycle while solving the puzzle. “It’s cool to do, but the combination of activities people do for world records is amazing”.

“Congratulations dear…so proud,” wrote one viewer.
