Chhattisgarh: Food inspector suspended for finding phone by taking out water from reservoir

Kanker (Chhattisgarh). [India]May 27 (ANI): A food inspector has been suspended in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district after he wasted 21 lakh liters of water from Paralkot reservoir to find his mobile phone.

Earlier on Sunday, when the food was checked, Rajesh Vishwas had gone for a picnic near the Kherkatta dam and while taking a selfie, his phone fell into the water.

Reacting to the matter, Congress MLA Anoop Nag said, ‘I came to know about this matter from sources and media reports that Rajesh Vishwas, food inspector of Pakhanjur, had gone for a picnic near the Kherkatta dam. Dam to find it. There are a lot of farmers in this area and although the phone and its data are important, the loss of public water is unacceptable.

“Many people were deployed to search it, though searches would have been done for mobile phones but the complete withdrawal of water from the dam is unacceptable. According to the ADM, the matter will be investigated. I want the Collector to take strict action,” said the Congress MLA. (ANI)
