The Eloor police have registered a case after a two-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was attacked by a neighbour’s chicken in Kochi’s Manjumel.
The victim Ahmed Salal has been advised to undergo plastic surgery. A case has been registered against the neighbor Jalil. The incident took place on November 18 at Ahmed’s maternal home in Manjumel.
Ahmed and family were staying at his uncle Faheem Hussain’s house in Manjummel. The child was playing outside the house when the chicken attacked him. It is being told that the child has injuries on the head, forehead, cheeks and under the eyes. Police sources said that the child is yet to recover from the shock after the incident.
Police have registered a case under IPC section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means) on Faheem’s complaint.
It is being probed whether the chicken was released due to some enmity with the neighbour. “The investigation is in the initial stage. Police sources said Jaleel’s statement would be recorded soon.
Meanwhile, the child was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. A complaint has been registered after the accused refused to pay the compensation.
