A resolution has been brought against the decision of the Center Chandigarh under Central Service Rules,
He said that in the past, the House has passed several resolutions urging the central government to shift Chandigarh to Punjab.
According to the resolution tabled by CM Mann in the House, “Keeping in view the goodwill and sentiments of the people, this House once again recommends the State Government to immediately transfer Chandigarh to Punjab along with the Central Government.”
The one-day special assembly session comes days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Central Service Rules will be applicable to the employees of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Chandigarh is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.
Earlier, after the session began, Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh and his son Rana Inder Pratap Singh, an independent MLA, were administered the oath of office.
