Chief Minister KCR reviews the flood situation in Telangana. Hyderabad News – Times of India

Hyderabad: With heavy Rain Chief Minister taking a dig at the state and many districts which have been hit by floods for the last two days. K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is presently in Delhi, has reviewed the situation and has put all district collectors on high alert to prevent loss of life and property and major damage to properties.
The Chief Minister spoke to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar over phone and inquired about the flood situation in various districts of the state.
He directed Kumar to put the district collectors and government machinery on high alert and take all necessary relief and rehabilitation measures.
He said that the officials should monitor all the lakes, ponds, nallahs which have received heavy inflow due to rain in rural areas and nallahs and nallahs in the city and towns to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.
He said that all the officers and employees of lower level of Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj, Road and Building, Electricity Department should be asked to keep vigil in their respective areas. The Chief Minister said that the people living in the low-lying areas should not face any kind of problem and for this the officials of the Irrigation Department should take all possible measures. Alternative arrangements and rehabilitation should be arranged by the district administration.
He directed the CS to put the NDRF and disaster management teams on standby in the backdrop of issuance of warnings by the Meteorological Department.

All the elected representatives live in their respective constituencies and regions and coordinate between the government machinery and the people. People should stay indoors, especially those living in low-lying areas, should be more safe, KCR said.
Later, following the instructions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar held a teleconference with the collectors of 20 flood-affected districts and took stock of the current situation in the districts.
The Chief Secretary said that the CM has directed the collectors to be on high alert and take all steps to avoid loss of life and property or damage to any property. He directed the collectors to increase vigilance by setting up control rooms in the respective collectorates.

“All officers should be available at the headquarters. People living in low-lying areas can be shifted to temporary shelters if necessary. Due to heavy to very heavy rains during the last few days, all the tanks, ponds and reservoirs are in spate and it is observed that the damage to the tanks or roads should be repaired immediately,” said Somesh Kumar.
He said that collectors can use the services of NDRF teams if needed. All the concerned departments should work in coordination with each other and take all preventive measures and see that no untoward incident takes place.
