Karnal: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 174 developmental projects totaling Rs 2,000 crore across the state through virtual mode from Karnal.
These include inauguration of 86 projects costing Rs 666 crore and foundation stone laying of projects worth Rs 1,378 crore.
The Chief Minister said, ‘The government is working with the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas’ and equitable development is being ensured in the entire state.
The CM announced setting up of a quality control authority to ensure transparency and fix accountability in government development projects.
“This authority will monitor and review the projects and ensure to take necessary action against the concerned officials if any lapse is found on their part,” he said.
Khattar claimed that the government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and no one involved in corrupt practices is being spared.
He said that the government has created the Engineering Works Portal, which has brought transparency in the allocation of government projects and now the tender for construction has been floated online.
The Chief Minister said, “Government is going to develop a system in which public can share information about quality, corruption, adulteration or substandard material used in projects on a single portal. Preliminary investigation is being done after getting the information. and strict action will be ensured against those found guilty.”
The CM said, “Infrastructure plays an important role in the development of the country. Therefore, the state government is continuously increasing the budget allocated for infrastructure. In this budget, 34.4 percent of the budget has been kept for infrastructure.”

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also listened to the problems of the people in the rest house of the Public Works Department.
The major projects that were inaugurated include new bus stand constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crore in Fatehabad, 220 KVA substation in Faridabad worth Rs 58 crore, 6 laning/ 4 laning of Karnal-Meerut road worth Rs 130 crore, primary health Centers included. Sinsar, Karmagarh, Karsindhu and Ram Rai in Jind have been constructed at a cost of Rs 115 crore.
He also dedicated the SDO Civil Complex at Kalayat constructed by the Revenue Department at a cost of Rs.17 crore.
The major projects for which the foundation stone was laid include mini secretariat building at Charkhi Dadri, a 200-bed civil hospital in Fatehabad’s Sector 9 to be built at a cost of Rs 234 crore, redevelopment of sports facilities at Karan Stadium in Karnal. 220 KV AIS substation at Palwal, and upgrade of 2 lane road connecting Faridabad-Greater Noida at a cost of Rs.99 crore.
